Carolyn Braden: NKOTB Concert Hair

Here is my concert hair. I was prepping to go to the "Package Tour" concert with NKOTB, 98 Degrees, and Boyz II Men. I loved NKOTB as a kid and they delivered an excellent show last night. Of course Donnie ripping off his sweaty shirt and throwing it to women in the crowd was a little over the top for the older "boy band", but all in all, a good show. I wanted to dress a little 80's but age appropriate. I found the asymmetrical mesh adorned top and Sam Edelman boots at T.J. Maxx. I wore my old school NKOTB watch with a Tarina Tarantino necklace around my wrist. I like the modern hair cut of shaving one side and leaving the other long, but when thinking about the growing out process for that cut.....  no way. I improvised with a french braid. I started with second day hair. I sprayed some dry shampoo on my hair so I could get a good tight braid. I started the braid on the left side and continued until I almost reached my right ear. I put a small plastic hair tie on the end. I teased the other side of my hair and sprayed more dry shampoo in it and the style was done.

Jessica Alba: #ombre hair dream

Alba was my recent inspiration for hair. I love how her ombré hair blends so well. My stylist figured out a great technique to duplicate the look. He did it tonight and it looks beautiful. He teased my hair in layers, painted on the bleach and sealed each foil loosely. I wanted to steer clear of having a blunt edge where the colors meet and he met that goal. I'll post a pic of my hair soon.
My stylist, Gregory Noel, is located in Louisville, Kentucky.

Update: Here are some photos of my new style. These were taken very early yesterday morning before I went to school. I'll post some more on a day when I have time to style my hair a little more.

Carolyn Braden's Creative #hair #fishbone #style

Here is a creative fishbone hairstyle I created for a night at the ballet. I wanted a little height so I teased the front and pinned it back before creating the fishbone braid.

Carolyn Braden Loves Braids and Bows

This style was posted on www.myglam.com. The ballerina bun is something I've done and so is the french braid. But together......genius! The bow just ups the cute factor!

Easy Summer Braid Style

I did a side braid that wrapped around my head. I pulled the other side back and twisted it all together in a small bun. I'm experimenting with styles that will prevent me from getting sick of long hair and chop it off. Braiding keeps it off my neck and keeps me cool in this hot summer-like heat.

Carolyn Braden says "Tarina for Paul"

I am a Tarina Tarantino super fan so when I saw she partnered up with Paul Mitchell, I was so happy. Her line consists of product gift sets for different hair types and a beautiful flat iron and hair dryer. What a great holiday gift idea for the hair guru in your life!

Picture taken from my latest Vogue! I am loving the November issue. I foresee lots of romantic floral connections in the upcoming spring fashion.

Carolyn Braden loves Batiste dry shampoo

Batiste dry shampoo is the perfect solution to second day hair. I've tried several brands but Batiste stands out from the crowd.

Carolyn Braden loves Jonathan Antin's Dirt

My husband and I have used Dirt since it first hit the store shelves. We watched Jonathan Antin create the product on his show and couldn't wait to try it. I'm a little disappointed Sephora decided to cave into Bumble and Bumbles demands of being their "prize" hair product and took Jonathan's line out of it's stores. So sad! I have to buy it at Ulta now and I hope they decide to keep it. I purchased this smaller jar for my friend to try. He was looking for a product that gives texture and hold and Dirt is just that. And it smells amazing.
